History and reference evolution
The GMT-Master II 126710GRNR has no direct predecessor in steel. Instead, its bezel arrived from the gold side of the family. In 2023, Rolex introduced a grey-and-black Cerachrom insert on the yellow Rolesor 126713GRNR and the full yellow-gold 126718GRNR. Steel buyers asked for it straight away. Still, they had to wait one year.
Watches & Wonders 2024
At Watches & Wonders 2024, Rolex put the grey-and-black insert on an Oystersteel case. Unlike the Pepsi and Batman launches, the new GMT-Master II 126710GRNR was offered from day one on both bracelets. The Jubilee carries the -0003 suffix and the Oyster -0004. As a result, there is no "launch bracelet" premium to chase.
Why a green hand?
The second detail is the green GMT hand, along with green "GMT-MASTER II" text on the dial. That colour pairing echoes the 116710LN, the black-bezel steel GMT made from 2007 to 2019. When that model ended, Rolex left the steel range without a neutral, single-tone GMT. Many collectors therefore see the 126710GRNR as the long-awaited answer, even though Rolex never framed it that way.
How the dates affect value
Because the model only dates from 2024, every example is recent. So card year matters less than it does on a Batman or Pepsi. Instead, buyers focus on condition, bracelet and whether the set is complete. Expect that to change slowly as the earliest pieces age and service history starts to matter.

What moves the price of this reference
Bracelet choice is the biggest lever. In the US, the Jubilee lists at US$12,000 and the Oyster at US$11,800. Yet on the secondary market, a Jubilee GMT-Master II 126710GRNR typically asks about US$1,500 more than an Oyster example. In other words, the market roughly multiplies the retail gap by seven.
Second, the insert. The grey half shows marks and fine scratches more easily than black or blue. Moreover, a chip in the ceramic cannot be polished, only replaced. Inspect the grey half under a direct light, ideally outdoors.
Third, the usual checks: stickers on a 2026 card, a complete box with hang tags, an unpolished case and an Oyster bracelet without excess stretch. Our box and papers guide explains what each item adds.
The odd position: above the Batman
Over the past year, asking prices for the 126710GRNR have risen, while the Batman has stayed flat. As of October 2026, excellent sets ask roughly US$20,500 to US$24,000. That puts the Bruce Wayne above the Batman at the same retail price. The likely reasons are simple: fewer pieces in circulation, novelty, and a neutral look that suits more wardrobes.
Where to check prices
Retail is the cleanest benchmark: RM51,000 for the Oyster and RM51,950 for the Jubilee at Malaysian official retailers. However, a new steel GMT is rarely available on the spot, so most buyers turn to the grey market. Local grey asks of RM73,000 to RM89,500 bracket the international band converted at 4.08. Use our retail vs market price guide to judge the premium, and the used Rolex prices guide for wider context.
When a price is too good to be true
Even a polished, watch-only 126710GRNR sits around US$15,500 to US$18,000. Consequently, a "full set" offered for under about US$17,000, or roughly RM69,000, needs a very good explanation. Also be wary of any listing that predates April 2024. Since the reference did not exist before then, an "older" card is fake by definition.
Genuine vs replica: how to check a 126710GRNR
Replica makers responded to this model within months of launch. The grey shade and the green details give them more to get wrong, which helps you. Start here, then work through our full authentication guide.
The grey must be neutral
On a genuine GMT-Master II 126710GRNR, the grey half of the insert is a neutral mid-grey. It has no blue or brown tint, even in warm indoor light. Fakes often show a slightly blue-grey or a flat, chalky tone. The boundary with the black half should sit crisply at the 6 and 18 hour marks. Rolex makes the insert as one piece of ceramic, so a visible seam or step means a two-piece fake insert.
Green in the right places
First, note that the green appears on the GMT hand and on the "GMT-MASTER II" text. Both should be the same shade of green. On many replicas the text is lighter or more yellow than the hand. Also, check that the bezel turns in 24 clicks in both directions without play.
Genuine: cyclops magnification
- Date fills the lens edge to edge
- Numerals stay sharp right to the lens rim
- Lens sits centred over the date window
Warning signs
- Date looks small, with a visible margin
- Lens slightly off-centre or bubbled
- Strong blue anti-glare tint on top of the lens
Serial, rehaut and crystal
Start with the inner flange. Its serial sits at 6 o'clock, framed by the engraved ROLEX lettering, and that lettering aligns with the minute track. In addition, the crystal at 6 carries a tiny laser-etched coronet. Look between the lugs too: reference at 12, serial at 6. Turn the watch over and the caseback should be smooth and blank.
Genuine: rehaut engraving alignment
- Each engraved crown and letter lines up with its minute marker
- Engraving is crisp, even in depth, and readable at 12 o'clock
- Serial number engraved on the rehaut at 6 on modern pieces
Warning signs
- Letters drift between markers as they go around the ring
- Shallow, sandy-looking or uneven engraving
- Serial at 6 printed rather than engraved, or wrong format
Genuine: lume colour and application
- Modern pieces glow blue (Chromalight) and stay bright for hours
- Every marker and hand glows at the same intensity
- Lume plots filled neatly to the edge of the surround
Warning signs
- Green or mixed-colour glow on a modern reference
- Hands and markers fade at different rates
- Overfilled or thin, lumpy plots under a loupe
What only a watchmaker can confirm
Ultimately, the decisive checks are inside. A watchmaker can confirm calibre 3285 markings, the blue Parachrom hairspring and correct finishing on the bridges. They can also measure timekeeping against Rolex's Superlative Chronometer target of −2/+2 seconds a day. In Malaysia, book a check with Rolex in Kuala Lumpur, or a watchmaker whose work you know, before you pay the balance.
Who the 126710GRNR suits, and the alternatives
This GMT-Master II 126710GRNR suits a buyer who wants a GMT that does not shout. Grey and black disappears under a cuff and works with almost any strap colour if you ever change it. It also suits someone who regrets missing the 116710LN, thanks to that green hand.
Living with it day to day
On the wrist, the 40 mm case wears neatly on most wrists from about 16.5 cm upwards. The Oyster version feels sportier, while the Jubilee drapes better on a smaller wrist. In addition, the 70-hour reserve means a weekend off the wrist does not stop it. For travel, the jumping local hour hand is the real convenience: you change time zones in seconds without stopping the watch. Plan on a service roughly every ten years, in line with Rolex's guidance for the 3285 generation; our service and value guide covers costs in Malaysia.
Close relatives
The Batman 126710BLNR costs the same at retail and slightly less pre-owned. If you can live with blue, it is the better value today. For a two-tone version of the same colours, the 126713GRNR adds yellow gold. If you prefer the older single-colour look, the 116710LN costs less but uses the older 3186 movement. Our Submariner vs GMT-Master II comparison is useful if a diver is also on your list.

126710GRNR FAQ
What is the Bruce Wayne GMT?
It is the collector nickname for the steel GMT-Master II 126710GRNR, launched in 2024. Bruce Wayne is Batman's everyday identity, and the watch is a toned-down Batman: the blue half of the bezel turns grey, and the GMT hand turns green. Rolex does not use the name.
How much is the 126710GRNR in Malaysia?
Official Malaysian retail is RM51,000 on the Oyster bracelet and RM51,950 on the Jubilee, as of October 2026. Local grey-market asks have ranged from about RM73,000 to RM89,500. Excellent pre-owned sets internationally sit at roughly US$20,000 to US$22,800, which is about RM81,600 to RM93,000.
Is the 126710GRNR worth more than the Batman?
On the secondary market, yes, by a modest margin. In October 2026, excellent sets of the 126710GRNR ask about US$2,000 more than a comparable 126710BLNR. Both retail at the same price. The gap reflects novelty and lower supply so far, so it could narrow as more pieces reach the market.
Does the grey Cerachrom bezel scratch?
Cerachrom is very hard and resists everyday scratches far better than aluminium. However, the lighter grey half shows scuffs and surface marks more readily than black, and a chip cannot be polished out. If you buy pre-owned, inspect the grey half under a bright light before paying.
Is the 126710GRNR the replacement for the 116710LN?
Not officially. Rolex has not named a direct successor to the black-bezel 116710LN. However, the green GMT hand is a clear nod to it, and many collectors treat the 126710GRNR as its spiritual follow-up.
