The two questions every buyer asks

Am I paying the right price?

Pre-owned Rolex prices depend on far more than the model. Box and papers, a polished case, a replaced dial and the date on the warranty card can each move a price by 10 to 30 percent. Our used Rolex price guide explains how to grade condition, read sold listings and negotiate. Then every reference page gives a price band for four conditions.

Read the used price guide

Is this watch genuine?

Fakes have improved. Some super clones now copy the movement layout, the weight and the engravings. We split checks into three levels: what you can see in ten seconds, what you can check in ten minutes with a loupe, and what only a watchmaker can confirm. Each reference page adds the details specific to that model.

Rolex prices in Malaysia: retail vs the market

Some references trade far above their list price, while others now sell below it once worn. These are the models Malaysian buyers ask about most. Ringgit list prices are on each reference page.

Rolex price guide FAQ

How much does a Rolex cost in Malaysia?

New, the least expensive Rolex is the Oyster Perpetual. The OP 31 (277200) lists at RM27,150 and the OP 36 (126000) at RM29,050. A steel Submariner Date 126610LN lists at RM49,100, and a steel Daytona 126500LN at RM73,000. Solid-gold Day-Dates start around RM199,000. Pre-owned prices can be higher or lower than these, depending on demand. Each reference page shows both.

Is Rolex cheaper in Malaysia than in other countries?

Usually not by much. Malaysian list prices include local tax, whereas US list prices exclude sales tax. At 4.08 ringgit to the dollar, the 126610LN's RM49,100 works out to about US$12,030, roughly 6% above its US$11,350 US list price before tax. Exchange-rate swings matter more than the gap itself. That is why our retail vs market price guide compares regions.

Why are some used Rolex watches more expensive than new ones?

Because authorised dealers cannot supply enough of certain steel models. If you cannot get a Daytona 126500LN at retail, the open market sets the price, and it currently trades at roughly double its list price. However, many other references now sell below retail when pre-owned. Our used Rolex price guide shows which are which.

How can I tell if a Rolex is real?

Start with quick checks: the date magnification, the engraving on the inner ring, the clasp finish and the paperwork. These catch weak fakes. Modern super clones, however, pass many visual checks. The only conclusive test is a watchmaker opening the caseback and inspecting the movement. Our real vs fake Rolex guide walks through all three levels.
