Everose Root Beer 126715CHNR specifications
The case, bezel, crown and bracelet are all 18 kt Everose, so this 40 mm watch feels noticeably denser than steel on the wrist. Two dials exist: black (-0001) and tiger iron stone (-0002). The table covers both; prices below refer to the black dial unless stated.

History and reference evolution
2018: the first GMT-Master II in solid Everose
Rolex launched the Everose Root Beer 126715CHNR at Baselworld 2018, next to the two-tone Root Beer 126711CHNR. It was the first GMT-Master II made entirely in Everose. It borrowed the brown-and-black colours that collectors first called Root Beer on 1970s two-tone GMTs. However, this time the insert was one piece of Cerachrom ceramic, so the brown cannot fade the way old aluminium did.
Rolex casts Everose in its own foundry. The alloy was introduced in 2005 with a little platinum added to hold the pink colour. Because of that, an Everose watch from 2018 should match one from 2026 under the same light. That consistency helps when you buy a used piece and later want parts from Rolex.
Calibre 3285 from launch
The Everose Root Beer has used calibre 3285 since day one. It offers a 70-hour reserve, a Chronergy escapement and a jumping local hour hand linked to the date. So there are no early and late movement versions to sort out. That keeps buying simple: a 2018 example and a 2026 example run the same calibre.
2025: the tiger iron dial changes the market
At Watches & Wonders 2025, Rolex added a tiger iron stone dial as -0002. The stone combines golden tiger's eye, red jasper and silvery hematite, and every slice is different. It was the second Rolex to use tiger iron, after the yellow-gold GMT-Master II 126718GRNR.
The new dial split the Everose Root Beer into two markets. The black dial lists at US$53,100 and trades below that. Tiger iron lists at US$57,500 and trades far above it. Therefore you must confirm the full sub-reference on the warranty card before you compare prices. Both versions of the Everose Root Beer share one case, bezel and movement, so the card and the dial are the only real differences. A seller who quotes "126715CHNR" without the suffix is giving you half the information.
126715CHNR pre-owned prices compared
The table below shows black-dial (-0001) bands. Tiger iron examples sit in a different bracket, discussed underneath.
| Condition | What it means | USD | MYR (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unworn, full set | Stickers or barely worn, box, card dated within ~2 years, all tags | US$47,000 – US$50,000 | RM192,000 – RM204,000 |
| Excellent, box & papers | Light wear, unpolished or lightly polished, warranty card present | US$42,500 – US$47,500 | RM173,000 – RM194,000 |
| Good, no papers | Normal wear, watch only or box only, service history helps | US$38,500 – US$42,500 | RM157,000 – RM173,000 |
| Polished or aftermarket parts | Soft case edges, replaced dial/bezel/bracelet, or non-Rolex parts | US$33,000 – US$38,000 | RM135,000 – RM155,000 |
Bands reflect asking and achieved prices from 3 public market sources in October 2026, rounded. Retail for comparison: US$53,100. Prices move; use them as a sense-check, not a quote.
What moves the price of this reference
On the Everose Root Beer, the dial is the single biggest factor. In October 2026, tiger iron sets ask about US$86,500 to US$96,000, roughly double a black dial. Within tiger iron, the stone itself matters. Pieces with lively gold and red banding sell faster and higher than darker, flatter slices.
Next comes the gold. Solid Everose scratches more readily than steel, and the whole bracelet is gold, not just the centre links. A watch that has been polished hard loses metal and crispness, which buyers spot on the lug edges. On the other hand, light desk wear is expected and should not cost much.
A complete set with a recent card adds confidence and value. Finally, remember that discounts are normal here. Precious-metal GMTs trade near or below list, so a black dial at 15% under retail is not a warning sign by itself.
Reading the market for a gold GMT
Malaysian list prices are RM230,200 for black and RM249,300 for tiger iron. By contrast, pre-owned black-dial sets at US$42,500 – US$47,500 convert to about RM173,000 to RM194,000. That is a real saving, and it explains why many buyers in Kuala Lumpur go pre-owned for gold references.
Grey dealers in Singapore and Hong Kong carry more gold stock than local sellers, so compare across all three. Marketplace asking prices on Chrono24 or Mudah run high at first and fall with time on sale. Auction results help for tiger iron, where each stone is unique. For black dials, dealer stock is plentiful enough to set the price.
Red flags at this price level
For a black dial with box and papers, anything below about US$33,000 (roughly RM135,000) deserves suspicion. That figure is the floor of the polished or aftermarket band. For tiger iron, an offer near or below the US$57,500 list is a stronger warning. The open market pays far more, so nobody honest sells at list.
Genuine vs replica: how to check a 126715CHNR
Counterfeiters target the Everose Root Beer because a convincing fake can be sold for tens of thousands. Most clones are steel with gold plating. Therefore the material checks below catch more fakes here than dial or text checks do.
Weight and colour of solid Everose
A solid 18 kt watch with a full gold bracelet is heavy, and the Everose Root Beer is no exception. If you have handled the two-tone 126711CHNR, this one should feel clearly denser. Look also at wear points: clasp edges, bracelet underside and crown tube. Real Everose wears to more Everose. A plated fake wears through to a grey base metal.
The clasp is a folding clasp with a 5 mm Easylink extension, not a Glidelock. Its machining should be crisp, with clean coronet stamping and smooth action.
Genuine: clasp and bracelet machining
- Crisp transitions between brushed and polished surfaces
- Clasp blade and logo cleanly milled, not stamped-looking
- Bracelet links tight, quiet, no rattle; screws not pins on modern pieces
Warning signs
- Polishing bleeds over brushed edges
- Fuzzy logo, uneven font, or stamped-in look
- Loose links, sharp burrs inside the clasp, cheap spring-loaded feel
Stone dial checks for the -0002
Tiger iron is natural stone, so its bands are irregular. Some lines thicken, fade or curve. A printed fake tends to repeat the same pattern, or shows dots under a loupe. Also compare photos of the dial with the warranty card date and serial; a genuine seller will be happy to do this.
Genuine: laser-etched crown at 6 o'clock
- Made of tiny dots, hard to find without a loupe
- Sits in the crystal just above the 6 o'clock marker
- Present on most Rolex crystals from the early 2000s onward
Warning signs
- Bold and frosted, easy to spot head-on
- Solid lines instead of a dot matrix
- Off-centre, or placed on a reference/era that would not have it
Bezel and date
The brown-and-black insert is a single ceramic piece with an Everose edge. Colours should meet sharply at 6 and 18. The bezel turns both ways in 24 clicks with no wobble. Also check the Cyclops: it should magnify the date about two and a half times and sit centred over the window.
Genuine: cyclops magnification
- Date fills the lens edge to edge
- Numerals stay sharp right to the lens rim
- Lens sits centred over the date window
Warning signs
- Date looks small, with a visible margin
- Lens slightly off-centre or bubbled
- Strong blue anti-glare tint on top of the lens
What only a watchmaker can confirm
Opening the solid, plain caseback lets a watchmaker confirm calibre 3285, its blue Parachrom hairspring and Rolex's finishing. They will also check the reference engraving between the lugs at 12 and the serial at 6. Gold purity can be confirmed with non-destructive testing. In Malaysia, book this before payment, not after. Who the 126715CHNR suits, and the alternatives
The Everose Root Beer 126715CHNR suits a buyer who already owns a steel sports Rolex and wants something warmer and more formal. It also suits someone who prefers rose gold to yellow. The black dial is the sensible buy at a discount. Tiger iron is a collector's piece, chosen with the eyes.
However, the Everose Root Beer is less ideal for an active lifestyle. Solid gold marks easily, and polishing takes metal away. If that worries you, read our note on service and value before deciding.
Other watches to weigh up
The two-tone 126711CHNR gives the same look for less than half the price. The 126718GRNR is the yellow-gold counterpart with a grey bezel. If you are torn between a gold sports watch and a chronograph, the Daytona steel vs gold comparison covers how gold sports models hold value.

GMT-Master II 126711CHNR
Two-tone Everose GMT with a brown and black bezel. Trades just above its US$20,050 list.

GMT-Master II 126718GRNR
Solid yellow-gold GMT on a Jubilee, grey and black bezel. Black dial near list; tiger iron far above.
126715CHNR FAQ
Why does the black-dial 126715CHNR sell below retail?
Precious-metal sports watches have a smaller pool of buyers, and the list price of US$53,100 is high. So once a black-dial example leaves the boutique, it competes with a wide pre-owned supply. In October 2026, excellent sets ask about US$42,500 to US$47,500. That gap is normal for solid-gold GMTs.
What is the tiger iron dial on the 126715CHNR?
Tiger iron is a natural stone made of bands of golden tiger's eye, red jasper and silvery hematite. Rolex added it to this reference as -0002 at Watches & Wonders 2025, after first using it on the yellow-gold 126718GRNR. Every dial has its own banding, so no two look the same.
Is the tiger iron 126715CHNR worth the extra money?
The market says yes for now. Tiger iron examples ask about US$86,500 to US$96,000, against a US$57,500 list. That premium depends on scarcity and on how attractive each stone looks. It may narrow as more pieces reach the market, so pay for the dial you love rather than a forecast.
What is the difference between the 126715CHNR and the 126711CHNR?
Both are Root Beer GMTs with brown-and-black Cerachrom and calibre 3285. The 126715CHNR is solid 18 kt Everose, while the 126711CHNR mixes Everose with Oystersteel. The solid-gold watch is heavier, costs about two and a half times more, and is the only one offered with a tiger iron dial.
How much is the Everose Root Beer in Malaysia?
Malaysian list prices in October 2026 are RM230,200 for the black dial and RM249,300 for tiger iron. Pre-owned black-dial sets convert to roughly RM173,000 to RM194,000. So a clean used black dial can save a five-figure sum in ringgit over buying new.
