Read this table with one point in mind. The Sky-Dweller 336934 packs the line's full complication, annual calendar plus home time, into the cheapest metal Rolex uses for it. So nothing on the movement side is cut back to reach the lower price.

History and reference evolution
Rolex introduced the Sky-Dweller in 2012 as a solid-gold travel watch. It was the brand's most complex Oyster at the time. For five years you could not buy one in anything but gold, so the starting price sat well above most buyers' budgets.
2017: the first steel Sky-Dweller
That changed in 2017 with the 326934. Rolex paired an Oystersteel case and bracelet with a fluted 18k white gold bezel, which it calls White Rolesor. The list price roughly halved compared with gold. As a result, the Sky-Dweller turned from a niche gold piece into a realistic alternative to a Datejust or GMT-Master II.
The 326934 also brought the blue dial that defined the model for many buyers. Black and white followed alongside it. Later, Rolex added a Jubilee option, which softened the look considerably.
2023: calibre 9002 and the 336934
In 2023 the line moved to six-digit 336 references, and the Sky-Dweller 336934 replaced the 326934. The outside barely changed. Inside, however, calibre 9002 took over from the 9001. The key upgrade is the Chronergy escapement, which is more efficient and less sensitive to magnetism. Power reserve stays at about 72 hours, and Rolex still certifies the watch as a Superlative Chronometer.
Then, in 2024, Rolex added a mint green dial. It quickly became the most requested version of the reference, and the market priced it accordingly.
Why the changes matter for value
Because the 326934 and 336934 look so alike, buyers mostly pay for the newer movement and the remaining warranty. A late 326934 with a recent service is therefore a sensible way in for less money. By contrast, the mint green dial exists only on the 336934, so that version carries a premium the older reference cannot match. Our Rolex service and value guide shows how to price an upcoming service into an older watch.

Bands reflect asking and achieved prices from 2 public market sources in October 2026, rounded. Retail for comparison: US$17,750. Prices move; use them as a sense-check, not a quote.
The headline is simple: the Sky-Dweller 336934 trades above its list price. Rolex asks US$17,750 in the US and RM76,800 in Malaysia. Meanwhile, excellent full sets sell for US$22,000 – US$26,000, and WatchCharts tracked a market average near US$23,600 in October 2026. In other words, buying new from a boutique is the cheapest route if you can get an allocation.
What moves the price of this reference
Five factors drive a 336934's price, and dial colour leads them.
- Dial colour. Mint green asks the most, with bright blue close behind. Bright black and intense white sit lower, so they are the value picks.
- Full set. On a steel Sky-Dweller, the dated card, box and hang tags are worth roughly 8 to 15% over the bare watch. Our box and papers guide lists every item a complete set should contain.
- Bracelet. Oyster and Jubilee trade at similar levels. However, some buyers specifically hunt the Jubilee, which can tighten supply for a given dial.
- Polished bezel. White gold flutes are soft. Once polished, their sharp ridges round off, and the watch drops into the lowest band.
- Warranty date. A 2025 or 2026 card still carries several years of Rolex cover, so it adds real money.
Mint green, blue, black or white?
Each dial changes the watch more than you might expect. Mint green is pale and fresh, and it can look almost silver under office lighting. Bright blue is the classic 336934 look, and the red month marker stands out well against it. Bright black is the most formal and the easiest to read at night. Intense white, meanwhile, makes the case look larger and suits a Jubilee. If resale matters, green and blue are safer. Otherwise, try all four on the wrist, because photographs rarely show how much the dial sets the mood.
Where to check prices
First, ask an authorised retailer in Kuala Lumpur. The Sky-Dweller 336934 is not as scarce as a steel GMT, so a short wait is realistic for black or white dials. Next, compare grey dealers in Malaysia and Singapore, who price around the US market plus a margin. Chrono24-style marketplaces show asking prices, which run above final sale prices. Auction results are honest but thin for this reference, because it is so new. For how we compile our bands, read the used Rolex price guide.
When a price is too good to be true
Be wary of any Sky-Dweller 336934 full set offered below about US$17,000 (roughly RM69,000). That is under list and well under the no-papers band for a genuine example. Typically, such listings are replicas, watches with swapped parts, or stolen pieces. Also, a "new" mint green dial below list should raise questions, since even used examples trade above it.
Genuine vs replica: how to check a 336934
The Sky-Dweller's calendar is hard to copy convincingly. Consequently, start with what the watch does, not how it looks. Our real vs fake Rolex guide covers the general method; these checks are specific to the 336934.
Test the Ring Command bezel
Unscrew the crown to its single pulled-out position. Then turn the white gold bezel through its three notches. In the first, the crown sets the date and, by extension, the month. In the second, the local hour hand jumps in one-hour steps without stopping the seconds. In the third, you set the reference time on the off-centre 24-hour disc. On many replicas the bezel is purely decorative, so nothing changes from one notch to the next.
Genuine: bezel action and alignment
- Divers' bezels: 120 firm, evenly spaced clicks, one direction only
- Pearl or triangle lands exactly on 12 at every full click
- No back-play or wobble when pressed
Warning signs
- Fewer or mushy clicks, or it turns both ways
- Triangle stops just short of or past 12
- Gritty feel and a hollow, high-pitched sound
Read the month and the date
Next, look at the twelve small apertures just inside the hour markers. Only the current month should show red. Advance the date past the 31st and check that the red marker steps cleanly to the next month. The Cyclops over the date should magnify about 2.5 times, so the numeral fills the lens. Weak magnification remains a common replica giveaway.
Genuine: cyclops magnification
- Date fills the lens edge to edge
- Numerals stay sharp right to the lens rim
- Lens sits centred over the date window
Warning signs
- Date looks small, with a visible margin
- Lens slightly off-centre or bubbled
- Strong blue anti-glare tint on top of the lens
Engravings and crystal
The rehaut reads "ROLEX" all the way around, with the serial number at 6 o'clock. The letters should line up precisely with the minute markers. Tilt the watch under a loupe as well: a faint dotted coronet sits in the sapphire just above the 6 o'clock marker. Finally, the caseback is plain and solid, with no display window.
Genuine: rehaut engraving alignment
- Each engraved crown and letter lines up with its minute marker
- Engraving is crisp, even in depth, and readable at 12 o'clock
- Serial number engraved on the rehaut at 6 on modern pieces
Warning signs
- Letters drift between markers as they go around the ring
- Shallow, sandy-looking or uneven engraving
- Serial at 6 printed rather than engraved, or wrong format
What only a watchmaker can confirm
The decisive test is calibre 9002 itself. A genuine movement shows a blue Parachrom hairspring, a Chronergy escapement and the calibre number on the bridges. The Saros calendar adds its own extra wheels, which clone movements simplify or omit. A watchmaker can also confirm the dial, hands and bezel are original parts. In Malaysia, the Rolex service centre in Kuala Lumpur or an experienced independent can open the case for a modest fee.
Who the 336934 suits, and the alternatives
The Sky-Dweller 336934 suits a frequent traveller who wants home time and a calendar that only needs attention once a year. It also suits a Datejust owner looking for something more involved without moving to solid gold. At 42 mm it wears large, so it sits best on wrists of about 17 cm (6.7 inches) and up. On smaller wrists, the lugs can overhang.
However, if you mainly want a second time zone, the GMT-Master II 126710BLNR does that for less and adds a third zone via its bezel. If you love the white Rolesor look but want a slimmer, simpler watch, the Datejust 41 126334 shares the fluted white gold bezel. For warmth, the two-tone Sky-Dweller 336933 uses the same case in yellow Rolesor and often sells below list. Our Sky-Dweller vs Day-Date comparison covers the gold step up, and the Sky-Dweller collection page lists every reference.

Sky-Dweller 336933
Two-tone steel and yellow gold, 42 mm, calibre 9002. Champagne, black or white dial. Trades below list.

Datejust 41 126334
Steel Datejust 41 with a white gold fluted bezel; the strongest premium over retail in the 41 mm line.

GMT-Master II 126710BLNR
Blue-and-black steel GMT on Jubilee (Batgirl) or Oyster. Retail RM51,000; market prices and fake tells.
336934 FAQ
Is the Sky-Dweller worth it?
The 336934 is the strongest case for it. You get an annual calendar, a second time zone and a 72-hour calibre 9002 for US$17,750 in the US, or RM76,800 in Malaysia. That is less than the two-tone GMT-Master II 126713GRNR. The catch is availability: the market sits above list, so buying new at retail is the real bargain. Paying a large grey premium weakens the value argument.
How much is the Sky-Dweller 336934 in Malaysia?
The official Malaysian list price is RM76,800 as of October 2026, confirmed at Cortina Watch and The Hour Glass. Pre-owned excellent full sets convert to roughly RM90,000 to RM106,000, because the watch trades above list. A grey dealer's unworn asking price can run higher still, especially for mint green.
Which 336934 dial holds value best?
Mint green, followed closely by bright blue. Both ask more than the bright black and intense white dials for comparable full sets. The white dial is the quietest and often the cheapest way into the reference. If you plan to sell within a few years, green or blue is the safer choice; otherwise, buy the dial you like.
Is the 336934 stainless steel?
Mostly. Rolex calls the metal White Rolesor: the case and bracelet are Oystersteel, while the fluted bezel is 18k white gold. Visually, the bezel looks like polished steel. However, it is softer, so the flutes pick up marks more readily than a ceramic bezel. Polishing those flutes rounds their edges, which lowers resale value.
What is the difference between the 336934 and the 326934?
The 326934 (2017 to 2023) used calibre 9001. The 336934 runs the calibre 9002, which adds Rolex's Chronergy escapement while keeping the 72-hour reserve. The case, bezel and dial layout look essentially the same. Therefore, read the reference engraved between the lugs at 12 o'clock and the warranty card, rather than relying on looks.
Oyster or Jubilee bracelet on the 336934?
Both are offered, each with the Oysterclasp and 5 mm Easylink extension. The Oyster looks sportier and keeps the polished centre links out of the way of scratches. The Jubilee, with its five-piece links, drapes more softly and suits the dressier white and blue dials. Prices are close, so choose by comfort.
