Sky-Dweller 336933 specifications
Most of these rows match the steel-and-white-gold model. The difference is the metal line: yellow gold on the bezel, crown and centre links changes both the look and the resale maths of the Sky-Dweller 336933.

History and reference evolution
The Sky-Dweller began in 2012 as a solid-gold complication. Rolex then widened the line in 2017, adding two Rolesor models at much lower prices. One was white Rolesor. The other was the yellow Rolesor 326933, the direct ancestor of this watch.
The calibre 9001 years
The 326933 used calibre 9001 and a fluted yellow gold bezel that doubles as the Ring Command control. Champagne quickly became its signature dial, because the warm tone blends the steel and gold. Black and white versions gave buyers a crisper option. Bracelet choice later broadened, with a Jubilee joining the original Oyster.
The 2023 update
Rolex moved the whole line to calibre 9002 in 2023, and the Sky-Dweller 336933 took over from the 326933. The key change is the Chronergy escapement. It converts more of the mainspring's energy into timekeeping and resists magnetism better. Reserve stays at around 72 hours, so day-to-day ownership feels the same. Externally, the case, lugs and dial layout carried over almost unchanged.
What it means when you buy
Because the two references look alike, a well-kept 326933 is the cheaper door into a two-tone Sky-Dweller. That said, an older watch may be due a service soon, and the Sky-Dweller's calendar makes that service dearer than a time-only Rolex. Therefore, budget for it before you compare prices. A 336933 with a recent card avoids that cost for several years. Our service and value guide explains how to weigh it.
336933 pre-owned prices compared
| Condition | What it means | USD | MYR (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unworn, full set | Stickers or barely worn, box, card dated within ~2 years, all tags | US$23,000 – US$25,000 | RM94,000 – RM102,000 |
| Excellent, box & papers | Light wear, unpolished or lightly polished, warranty card present | US$20,000 – US$23,000 | RM82,000 – RM94,000 |

Bands reflect asking and achieved prices from 2 public market sources in October 2026, rounded. Retail for comparison: US$24,050. Prices move; use them as a sense-check, not a quote.
Here the Sky-Dweller 336933 behaves differently from its white Rolesor sibling. Rolex lists it at US$24,050, yet excellent full sets change hands for US$20,000 – US$23,000. WatchCharts put the market average near US$21,000 in October 2026, roughly 13% under list. In Malaysia the list price is RM104,100, so the used discount converts to five figures in ringgit.
There is an odd consequence. At list, the two-tone costs about US$6,300 more than the steel-and-white-gold 336934. On the used market, however, the 336934 often costs more. So if you like both, the gold-accented watch is the better deal pre-owned.
What moves the price of this reference
Four factors matter on a Sky-Dweller 336933, roughly in this order.
- Condition of the gold. Yellow gold centre links and bezel flutes are soft. Deep scratches or rounded flutes push a watch towards the bottom band.
- Full set. Papers, box and tags typically add 8 to 15%. Our box and papers guide lists what should be there.
- Dial colour. Champagne is the most liquid; the black and white dials sell at similar levels. Gaps are a few hundred dollars, rarely more.
- Bracelet. Oyster and Jubilee trade near each other. A Jubilee shows wear between links sooner, so check for stretch.
How yellow Rolesor wears over time
A Sky-Dweller 336933 ages in a predictable pattern, and knowing it helps you judge a used example. The polished gold centre links scratch first, followed by the tops of the bezel flutes. Steel outer links, by contrast, stay crisp for years. A watch with heavily marked centre links but sharp steel links has simply been worn often. However, centre links that look glossy and soft-edged may have been polished. Ask the seller about service history, because Rolex refinishes these parts with care during a full service.
Where to check prices
Two-tone Sky-Dwellers are usually obtainable at Malaysian boutiques without a long wait, so the RM104,100 list is a fixed reference point. Grey dealers in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore will typically quote below that. Marketplace listings on Chrono24 and local classifieds show asking prices, which then get negotiated down. In practice, a two-tone listing that has sat for weeks often has room to move. Our used Rolex price guide explains how we set the bands.
When a price is too good to be true
Treat any Sky-Dweller 336933 full set below about US$16,500 (roughly RM67,000) with suspicion. Even scuffed, paperless two-tone examples sell for more than that. Low two-tone prices also attract a specific scam: gold-plated steel parts fitted to a genuine or fake head. So check that the gold looks consistent in colour across the bezel, crown and links.
Genuine vs replica: how to check a 336933
Two-tone replicas often give themselves away through the gold before the dial. Start there, then move to the calendar and engravings. The broader method is in our real vs fake Rolex guide.
Gold colour and crown
Genuine 18k yellow gold has a rich, slightly deep tone. Plated parts tend to look brassy or too pale, and plating wears through at edges. Look closely at the crown. It is solid gold on a genuine 336933, and the coronet on its face should be sharp and evenly raised. Also, a tiny coronet is laser-etched into the crystal at 6 o'clock, visible under a loupe.
Genuine: laser-etched crown at 6 o'clock
- Made of tiny dots, hard to find without a loupe
- Sits in the crystal just above the 6 o'clock marker
- Present on most Rolex crystals from the early 2000s onward
Warning signs
- Bold and frosted, easy to spot head-on
- Solid lines instead of a dot matrix
- Off-centre, or placed on a reference/era that would not have it
Calendar behaviour
Turn the bezel to its first notch with the crown pulled out, then advance the date. The red marker in the twelve month apertures should step forward when the date passes the end of a month. The 24-hour disc should stay put while you set the date. Next, check the date itself under the Cyclops: it should be centred and enlarged about 2.5 times.
Genuine: cyclops magnification
- Date fills the lens edge to edge
- Numerals stay sharp right to the lens rim
- Lens sits centred over the date window
Warning signs
- Date looks small, with a visible margin
- Lens slightly off-centre or bubbled
- Strong blue anti-glare tint on top of the lens
Bracelet and clasp
The Oysterclasp should close with a firm, precise snap. The Rolex coronet on the clasp cover is crisply stamped, and the Easylink extension opens smoothly to add about 5 mm. Cheap clasps feel thin and rattle. Also check the rehaut, which carries the serial at 6 o'clock, and note that the caseback is solid with no window.
Genuine: clasp and bracelet machining
- Crisp transitions between brushed and polished surfaces
- Clasp blade and logo cleanly milled, not stamped-looking
- Bracelet links tight, quiet, no rattle; screws not pins on modern pieces
Warning signs
- Polishing bleeds over brushed edges
- Fuzzy logo, uneven font, or stamped-in look
- Loose links, sharp burrs inside the clasp, cheap spring-loaded feel
What only a watchmaker can confirm
Only an opened case confirms calibre 9002. A watchmaker will look for the blue Parachrom hairspring, the Chronergy escapement and the Saros calendar works under the dial. They can also test gold parts and confirm that the bezel, crown and links are original. Frankenwatches built from mixed parts are common in two-tone, so this check is worth paying for. In Kuala Lumpur, the Rolex service centre or a reputable independent can do it.
Who the 336933 suits, and the alternatives
The Sky-Dweller 336933 suits someone who likes gold accents, wants a useful travel complication and is happy to buy used. It also suits a buyer who plans to keep the watch for a decade, since the below-list price limits the risk of loss. At 42 mm and two-tone, it is a statement piece. As a guide, it wears best on wrists of 17 cm (6.7 inches) or more. In a Malaysian office, a champagne two-tone also reads as more traditional than flashy, which suits many professional buyers. If you need a watch that disappears under a cuff, though, a 42 mm calendar watch is the wrong tool.
For the same metals in a slimmer, simpler watch, look at the Datejust 41 126333. If you mainly travel and want a sportier two-tone, the GMT-Master II 126713GRNR tracks a second zone with a rotating bezel. If you are tempted by solid gold, read our Sky-Dweller vs Day-Date comparison or see the yellow gold Sky-Dweller 336938. The full range sits on our Sky-Dweller collection page.

336933 FAQ
Why does the 336933 sell below retail?
Demand for two-tone Rolex models is softer than for steel or solid gold, and the Sky-Dweller already asks a large sum for a 42 mm watch. So the Sky-Dweller 336933 trades around US$21,000 against a US$24,050 list price. That gap is good news for buyers who like the look and plan to keep the watch for years.
How much is the Rolex Sky-Dweller 336933 in Malaysia?
The Malaysian list price is RM104,100 as of October 2026, confirmed at Cortina Watch and The Hour Glass. Excellent pre-owned full sets convert to roughly RM82,000 to RM94,000. So in Malaysia a clean used example can save RM10,000 or more, provided the papers and service history check out.
Which parts of the 336933 are solid gold?
The fluted bezel, the winding crown and the centre links of the bracelet are 18k yellow gold. The case, the outer bracelet links and the clasp body are Oystersteel. Rolex calls this combination Yellow Rolesor. The gold parts are softer, so they show scratches first, especially the polished centre links.
Is the champagne dial the best choice on the 336933?
It is the classic pairing and the easiest to resell, because champagne echoes the yellow gold. Bright black gives a sharper contrast and suits buyers who want the two-tone to look less traditional. Intense white is the rarest sight on the secondary market. Differences in price are modest, so condition matters more than dial.
Is a two-tone Sky-Dweller a good first Rolex?
It can be, if you want a complication and plan to wear it often. However, it is a large, busy watch and a lot of money for a first purchase. Many buyers start with a Datejust 41 126333 in the same metals. Our first Rolex buying guide sets out the options by budget.
What changed from the 326933 to the 336933?
The movement. The 326933, launched in 2017, used calibre 9001. The 336933 arrived in 2023 with calibre 9002, which adds the Chronergy escapement but keeps the 72-hour reserve. The case and dial design are effectively the same, so check the reference between the lugs and on the card.
