Rolex Land-Dweller Everose 127335 specifications

A 40 mm case in solid gold that is only 9.7 mm thick is unusual for Rolex. The flat profile spreads the weight, which matters more here than on any other Land-Dweller except platinum.

History and reference evolution

Rolex introduced the 127335 at Watches & Wonders 2025. Some early guides listed it as unconfirmed, because the 36 mm Everose drew more early coverage. In fact, both gold sizes appeared at launch. With no predecessor, its story runs through design choices rather than earlier references.

What Rolex kept from the 1970s, and what it changed

The angular, flat-sided case comes from the Oysterquartz era. However, Rolex added a fluted bezel to every Land-Dweller, gold included. On the Everose model, the flutes catch light in a way that brushed surfaces do not. Therefore, the bezel becomes the watch's main decorative feature, rather than the bracelet.

The dial also moved away from the Oysterquartz. Instead of plain or sunburst finishes, Rolex used a honeycomb motif cut by laser. On a rose gold watch, the white dial keeps contrast high and reads clearly in low light.

The Dynapulse escapement in a gold watch

Calibre 7135 runs at 5 Hz with twin silicon escape wheels in its Dynapulse escapement. For an Everose buyer, the main practical benefit is visible: the sapphire back shows the movement, and the 5 Hz beat makes the balance look busier than a typical Rolex. Rolex also certifies the movement as a Superlative Chronometer with a 66-hour reserve.

Why this matters for value

The 127335 has a narrow, slightly positive premium. That pattern fits a gold watch with steady but limited demand. Because there is no older generation, a future Rolex list increase will probably lift its pre-owned prices too. Even so, eighteen months of data is not enough to call it a store of value.

127335 pre-owned prices compared

The Rolex Land-Dweller Everose 127335 carries a US list of US$54,100 and a Malaysian boutique price of RM234,200. WatchCharts recorded about US$56,300 in October 2026, roughly 4% over list. That is a modest gap compared with the steel-and-white-gold models.

What moves the price of this reference

  • Size. The 40 mm Everose sits above its 36 mm sibling both in price and as a percentage of list.
  • Edge condition. Polished cases lose the sharp brushed-to-polished line. Buyers spot that quickly on a 40 mm gold case.
  • Bracelet stretch and scratches. A full gold bracelet takes more abuse than the case. Heavy marks on the links pull a piece down the table.
  • Thin market. Few 127335 pieces change hands. A single unworn set can sit for months at a high ask.

Where to check prices

Start with RM234,200 at a Kuala Lumpur boutique, then compare US list at 4.08 MYR per dollar. Malaysian prices sit about 6% above a straight conversion, which reflects local taxes. Next, look at grey dealers in Singapore and Hong Kong. Filter marketplaces for 127335 specifically, because "Everose Land-Dweller" searches also bring up the 36 mm model. Our used Rolex price guide describes our method.

When a price is too good to be true

Our lowest band for polished or aftermarket pieces starts near US$38,200. So a full-set 127335 below about US$38,000, or roughly RM155,000, should raise alarms. That figure is far below list for a gold watch currently trading above it.

Genuine vs replica: how to check a 127335

With a gold 40 mm Land-Dweller, fraud tends to target the metal and the movement. Our real vs fake Rolex guide covers general checks; these points are specific to the 127335.

The display back as a first filter

Turn the watch over. Calibre 7135 should show tidy finishing and a fast-moving balance. Next, look at the edges of the movement window. On a genuine case, the sapphire seats cleanly, with no gap or glue line.

Genuine: caseback

plain, fluted screw-down back
  • Solid Oystersteel or gold, fluted edge for the case wrench
  • No engraving on most models (some are factory-engraved, e.g. Sea-Dweller and Deepsea)
  • Display backs are factory-fitted only on certain models (e.g. some Daytona, 1908, Land-Dweller)

Warning signs

see-through or engraved back
  • Exhibition window on a model Rolex makes with a solid back
  • Stickers or decorative engravings sold as 'factory'
  • Back that turns too easily or sits proud of the case
The 127335 uses a sapphire display caseback that shows calibre 7135. A clear back is correct on a Land-Dweller; a solid back would be wrong.

Counting the beat

Then watch the seconds hand. A genuine 5 Hz calibre moves it ten times each second. Most replica movements manage eight or fewer, so a slow-motion phone video quickly shows the difference.

Genuine: seconds-hand sweep

8 steps per second(one second, magnified)
  • 28,800 vph: eight small steps per second, reads as a smooth glide on video
  • Steady amplitude, no stutter when the watch is tilted
  • A quiet, fine-grained ticking close to the ear

Warning signs

4 steps per second(one second, magnified)
  • Visibly choppier steps (often 21,600 vph or slower)
  • A single one-second tick means a quartz movement
  • Loud, rattly rotor noise when the watch is shaken
The 127335 seconds hand should advance ten steps per second. Fewer steps mean a non-Rolex movement.

Crystal etching and gold surfaces

Look for the laser-etched coronet in the crystal at 6. Then check the bracelet's underside for wear. Plated gold eventually wears through to a different colour, while solid Everose keeps its tone.

Genuine: laser-etched crown at 6 o'clock

visible only with a loupe at an angle
  • Made of tiny dots, hard to find without a loupe
  • Sits in the crystal just above the 6 o'clock marker
  • Present on most Rolex crystals from the early 2000s onward

Warning signs

obvious to the naked eye
  • Bold and frosted, easy to spot head-on
  • Solid lines instead of a dot matrix
  • Off-centre, or placed on a reference/era that would not have it
The etched coronet in the 127335 crystal at 6 should be tiny and faint, visible only at an angle.

What only a watchmaker can confirm

Timing equipment shows the 36,000 vph beat in seconds, and a case-off look confirms calibre 7135. They can also check the case metal with an XRF test. Moreover, a case-off look shows whether the movement parts carry the correct Rolex finishing. Finally, match the warranty card to the serial; our box and papers guide shows how.

Who the 127335 suits, and the alternatives

The 127335 is for someone after solid gold that looks modern rather than traditional. It also suits a collector who already owns a Day-Date and wants something slimmer and less formal.

Wearability of a 40 mm gold case

Between roughly 17 and 19.5 cm of wrist, the case sits flat and the bracelet hugs the arm. However, the gold weight means a slightly loose fit can let the watch slide. So size the bracelet snugly. On wrists under 16.5 cm, the 36 mm Everose 127235 wears better.

Spare links and sizing

Sizing a solid gold integrated bracelet takes more care than sizing a steel one. Each removed link is valuable gold, and the next owner may need it. Therefore, a complete 127335 should come with every removed link in its bag. If links are missing, ask a Rolex service centre for a replacement quote before you agree a price. That figure is often enough to change the deal.

Meanwhile, keep your own spare links stored with the box and card. Sellers who can hand over a complete bracelet tend to get the top of the band, because the buyer faces no extra cost.

Selling one later

When you sell a 127335, you have three routes in Malaysia. A grey dealer will buy outright, but its offer sits below its own resale ask to leave margin. Consignment through a dealer usually gets closer to market, though it takes longer. A private sale can achieve the most, but at this value you must manage payment and identity checks carefully.

Whichever route you choose, the full set, spare links and an unpolished case do most of the work. A buyer can see those immediately, so they support your price far better than any sales pitch.

Alternatives

The Day-Date 40 228235 is the obvious rival in Everose. For a gold watch with more complications, see the Sky-Dweller 336935. If you want the Land-Dweller design at a fraction of the cost, the White Rolesor 127334 is the same size.

127335 FAQ

How much is the Rolex Land-Dweller 40 in Everose?

The 127335 lists at US$54,100 and RM234,200 at Malaysian authorised dealers in October 2026. WatchCharts tracked it near US$56,300, about 4% above list. Excellent full sets fall roughly between US$53,000 and US$59,000 on our bands.

Why does the 40 mm Everose trade higher than the 36?

Most buyers of a new design want the larger size first, and gold buyers are no exception. The 40 mm version also suits more men's wrists. So demand runs slightly ahead of supply for the 127335, while the 36 mm 127235 sits just under its list.

Is the Everose Land-Dweller heavy?

Yes, noticeably. Rolex does not publish weights, but solid 18 kt gold is more than twice as dense as steel, and the 40 mm case and bracelet are both gold. Most owners adjust within a week. If you are used to a steel sports Rolex, try one on first.

Should I polish my Everose Land-Dweller at service?

Ask Rolex for a light refinish only, or none at all. The integrated case has sharp transitions between brushed and polished surfaces, and heavy polishing rounds them off. Collectors pay more for crisp, original edges, and gold is soft enough to lose metal quickly.

127335 or Day-Date 40 in Everose?

The Day-Date 40 228235 has a long resale record, the day display and the President bracelet. The 127335 is slimmer, has a display caseback and the newer 5 Hz movement. The Day-Date is the safer store of value; the Land-Dweller is the more modern watch.
