History and reference evolution

Everose was part of the Sky-Dweller story from its first year. When Rolex launched the model in 2012, it offered three gold versions, and an Everose model on a leather strap was among them. A matching Everose bracelet version, the 326935, followed. It became the pink-gold benchmark for the line until 2023.

Why Everose matters here

Rolex developed Everose in its own foundry and introduced it in 2005. The alloy contains a little platinum, which helps it keep its colour. On a watch with a broad fluted bezel and a full gold bracelet, that stability matters, because a faded bezel would show at once. In short, the alloy protects the look of a lot of visible gold.

From 326935 to 336935

The 336935 arrived in 2023 when calibre 9002 replaced the 9001 across the range. The new movement adds the Chronergy escapement, while the 72-hour reserve and the Saros calendar stay as before. The case and dial architecture carried over. Rolex also offers a rubber-strap twin, the 336235, which uses the same head on an Oysterflex.

Historically, chocolate has been the defining Everose dial. Slate, intense white and blue-green round out the current choices. The range of dials means you will see more variety on the used market than with the yellow gold model.

Oyster, Jubilee or Oysterflex

The 336935 head comes on two Everose bracelets, and the 336235 puts it on rubber. The Oyster, with three broad links, looks the most solid and hides wear on its brushed outer links. The five-piece Jubilee is dressier and drapes well, although its many small links stretch sooner. The Oysterflex is the practical choice: lighter, cooler in Malaysian humidity and cheaper at list. On the other hand, a bracelet adds a lot of gold, which supports resale. Therefore, think about how often you will wear it before choosing.

What the changes mean for value

Because the 9001 and 9002 look identical from outside, the older 326935 trades lower mainly on age and service history. For a solid gold Sky-Dweller, a full Rolex service is a sizeable bill. Therefore, factor it in before treating a 326935 as a bargain. Our service and value guide covers what to expect.

The Sky-Dweller 336935 sits close to retail. The US list is US$63,700 on the Oyster bracelet, and excellent full sets trade for US$58,000 – US$64,000. WatchCharts tracked a market average near US$61,700 in October 2026, a few per cent under list. In Malaysia, the Jubilee version lists at RM281,100. We could not confirm a separate ringgit price for the Oyster version, so ask a boutique directly.

What moves the price of this reference

Five things shift an Everose Sky-Dweller's price.

  • Bracelet type. Oyster and Jubilee trade close together. However, the Oysterflex 336235 lists for about US$10,000 less and sells lower, so make sure a listing is the reference you think it is.
  • Dial colour. Chocolate is the most liquid. Slate and blue-green attract specific buyers, while white is the quietest.
  • Bezel condition. Gold flutes dent and round off. Once polished, they lose their sharp edges, and value drops.
  • Bracelet stretch. A heavy gold bracelet wears at the pins. Check for sag between links.
  • Full set. On a watch at this price, missing papers can cost five figures, often 8 to 15% of value. The box and papers guide explains what buyers expect to see.

Where to check prices

Start with the authorised retailer quote in ringgit, because it changes with Rolex's price rises. Next, look at grey dealers in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. At this price level, many deals happen privately, so published asking prices are only a guide. Auction houses do sell gold Sky-Dwellers, and their results are useful as a floor. Also compare the gold value: solid gold limits how far the price can fall. For more on reading the data, see the used Rolex price guide.

Living with solid Everose

On the wrist, a Sky-Dweller 336935 wears its gold in a particular way. Brushed surfaces dull slightly with time, while polished bezel flutes and centre links pick up fine hairlines within weeks. That is normal, and a light refresh at a Rolex service brings it back. However, avoid aggressive polishing by a jeweller, because it softens the flutes for good. Also, store the watch away from steel pieces in a shared box. Gold is softer than steel, so a loose Submariner in the same drawer can mark it.

When a price is too good to be true

Any 336935 full set below about US$45,000 (roughly RM184,000) deserves deep suspicion. Genuine Everose examples, even without papers, do not go that cheaply. At this level, the common traps are gold-plated replicas and genuine heads on fake bracelets. Also, never pay a large deposit before you have seen the watch and its papers in person.

Genuine vs replica: how to check a 336935

Replicas of a gold Sky-Dweller 336935 usually save money on the gold. So start with weight and colour, then test the calendar. The full method is in our real vs fake Rolex guide.

Weight, colour and hallmarks

A genuine Sky-Dweller 336935 on a gold bracelet feels heavy at once. By contrast, plated steel feels noticeably lighter. Everose also has a specific warm, coppery pink tone. Plated parts often look too orange or too pale, and wear through on edges. Between the lugs, look for the gold hallmarks and the reference number. Engravings should be crisp, not grainy.

Calendar and date change

Set the time forward through midnight. On a genuine watch the date clicks over quickly and cleanly near 12. A slow, creeping change is a warning sign. Then use the first bezel position to run the date past the end of a month. The red month marker should step on exactly when it should.

Genuine: date change behaviour

22:0000:0002:00instant jump at midnight2827
  • Date snaps over within a minute or two of midnight
  • Hands set back past midnight do not drag the date backwards
  • Quick-set date clicks crisply in crown position 2

Warning signs

22:0000:0002:00slow creep over hours2827
  • Date starts moving around 22:00 and creeps until after midnight
  • Half-turned date visible in the window for hours
  • Quick-set feels gritty or needs several tries
A genuine 336935 changes date quickly around midnight; a slow, creeping change suggests a non-Rolex movement.

Rehaut and caseback

The rehaut is engraved "ROLEX" around the dial with the serial at 6 o'clock. Also, the lettering should align with the minute track. Next, check the caseback. On the 336935 it is solid gold, plain and screw-down, with no display window. A see-through back means a fake or a heavily modified watch.

Genuine: rehaut engraving alignment

markers on the minute track
  • Each engraved crown and letter lines up with its minute marker
  • Engraving is crisp, even in depth, and readable at 12 o'clock
  • Serial number engraved on the rehaut at 6 on modern pieces

Warning signs

markers drift off-track
  • Letters drift between markers as they go around the ring
  • Shallow, sandy-looking or uneven engraving
  • Serial at 6 printed rather than engraved, or wrong format
The 336935 rehaut should show evenly spaced ROLEX lettering and the serial at 6 o'clock.

Genuine: caseback

plain, fluted screw-down back
  • Solid Oystersteel or gold, fluted edge for the case wrench
  • No engraving on most models (some are factory-engraved, e.g. Sea-Dweller and Deepsea)
  • Display backs are factory-fitted only on certain models (e.g. some Daytona, 1908, Land-Dweller)

Warning signs

see-through or engraved back
  • Exhibition window on a model Rolex makes with a solid back
  • Stickers or decorative engravings sold as 'factory'
  • Back that turns too easily or sits proud of the case
The Sky-Dweller 336935 has a plain, solid screw-down caseback; some Rolex models have display backs, but this one never does.

What only a watchmaker can confirm

A watchmaker can open the case and confirm calibre 9002, with its blue Parachrom hairspring and Chronergy escapement. They can also verify the Saros calendar works and check that the dial, hands and bezel are genuine Rolex parts. In addition, a gold test confirms that the case and bracelet are solid Everose. Locally, Rolex's own service centre in KL gives the most authoritative verdict.

Who the 336935 suits, and the alternatives

The Sky-Dweller 336935 suits a buyer who wants a solid gold watch that does something useful. It is less formal than a Day-Date, yet clearly a gold Rolex. It also suits someone who travels often and wants home time at a glance. At 42 mm and with a heavy bracelet, it fits best on wrists of about 17.5 cm (6.9 inches) and above.

If you want Everose but a classic layout, the Day-Date 40 228235 costs less at list. Our Sky-Dweller vs Day-Date comparison sets the two side by side. For a sportier Everose watch on Oysterflex, the Yacht-Master 40 126655 is far cheaper. Within the line, the yellow gold Sky-Dweller 336938 is the closest sibling. 336935 FAQ

How much is the Rolex Sky-Dweller 336935?

In the US, the Oyster-bracelet version lists at US$63,700, and the Jubilee version at US$64,900. In Malaysia, the Jubilee lists at RM281,100 as of October 2026; we could not confirm a ringgit price for the Oyster version. Pre-owned excellent full sets sell for US$58,000 – US$64,000, so the market sits just under list.

What is Everose gold?

Everose is Rolex's own 18k pink gold alloy, cast in its foundry since 2005. It adds a small amount of platinum to the usual gold, silver and copper mix. The aim is a rose colour that does not fade with chlorine, salt water or time. Older rose gold from other makers can turn pale; Everose is designed to hold its tone.

What is the difference between the 336935 and the 336235?

The case, dial options and calibre 9002 are shared. The 336935 comes on an Everose Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. The 336235 comes on the Oysterflex, a rubber-coated strap with a metal core. Because it uses far less gold, the 336235 lists for about US$10,000 less. It is also lighter on the wrist.

Which 336935 dial is most popular?

Chocolate is the classic pairing with Everose and is the easiest to sell. Slate gives a cooler, more modern contrast. Intense white suits buyers who want a dressier look. The blue-green dial has a smaller following but stands out. Price differences are moderate, so choose the dial you will enjoy wearing.

Is the Sky-Dweller 336935 heavy?

Yes. Solid 18k gold is much denser than steel, and the 42 mm case plus a full gold bracelet make it one of Rolex's heavier watches. Most owners get used to it within days. If weight is a concern, the Oysterflex 336235 cuts it noticeably.

Does the 336935 hold its value?

Reasonably well. In October 2026, WatchCharts tracked it near US$61,700 against a US$63,700 list. That is a small discount, not a premium. Gold sets a floor under the price, so losses are limited for owners who keep the watch in good order. However, it should not be bought as an investment.
